I just read the following post in Just Publishing Advice. It is a warning to everyone who has ever posted anything online. Nothing you post has ever gone, even if you delete it.

I think I knew this, Viv, but it’s good to hear it again, and I didn’t know it was quite THAT permanent. I know that a lot of content gets copied (and stolen), so keeping that in mind is important when deciding what to post. Excellent share.

Thanks, Diana. I thought it was important. I didn’t know it was that permanent, either.

No surprise there! Fortunately, I’ve only published excerpts, social media posts (of no real import), and promos for my writing and signing events. Probably more concerning are emails between friends where one sometimes vents frustrations and biases because you’re good friends right? But if they forward your “vent” no telling who could see it and negatively associate it with your material published on purpose! Oh well, those ships sailed a long time ago!

Does no harm to remind people to be careful, though. What has gone, has gone, so no use fretting about it.
