Just in time for winter!
My grandma had some recipes for coughs and colds. One was whiskey in hot water with a little sugar added. This was to stop coughing.
I’m not sure what coldsource is though and wonder if he meant coldsores.

Turmeric? That’s interesting. I’ve heard it has lots of health benefits but didn’t know that included colds. I’ll have to give it a try. Of course, whiskey sounds pretty good. 🙂

They say the most popular thing that won’t cure a cold is whiskey!
I’ve put some of my gran’s cures (?) in my book, Viv’s Family Recipes. It has many historical recipes dating back to 1909 from a book of my grandma, as well as a few hints and tips from history, and, of course, more up to date ones.

What a great idea to mix some of your gran’s cures in your recipe book. My daughter is a Chinese medicine practitioner and she makes all kinds of remedies (some of which taste horrible) but they seem to work. 🙂

My daughter swears by Chinese medicine. She took my grandson for his ecsema (sorry, can never remember how to spell it!) when conventional medicine did nothing, and she’s going again now as she has a bad shoulder.
